Ygne Summer House In Gotland, Sweden
The Ygne summer house if situated on the island of Gotland, one of Swedens most popular summer holiday spots and is designed by Sandellsandberg. The design ambition was to build a house that would recess into the natural environment. FLoor to ceiling windows wrap the house from the entry facade into the inner courtyard, allowing the heavily wooded exterior to become a part of the interior landscape. The main living area has a strong material change from the living area has a strong material change from the interior to the exterior.
The exterior uses a rich material palette of Chinese tung oiled pine siding and decking, green painted siding and cor-ten steel detailing, where as, the interior uses a pale palette of white painted dividers, white washed pine floor, solid chimney, and limestone. The sleeping territory offsets with oiled masonite divider boards.
